This month, I’m presenting special virtual offerings of my regular 2 and 3-hour live CE classes focused on appraiser legal subjects. Due to state CE approval requirements, these classes are for CE credit in California only. LIA Administrators & Insurance Services (www.liability.com) is the sponsor and registered provider – which enables me to keep the prices reasonable. However, as appraisers who’ve been in my classes know: the subject is not boring E&O insurance stuff – I use real-world recent cases. (Appraisers insured by LIA receive credit on their E&O premium for two of the seminar subjects below – up to the cost paid for the class.)

I’m presenting the classes in Zoom. Like regular live classes, there are no quizzes to pass, but you do need to pay attention and have working audio and a video cam on your computer. The classes are approved by BREA for appraiser CE credit. The titles are:

  • June 12 and June 16, “Hot Topics and Myths in Appraiser Liability” (3 CE hours, BREA No. 16CP119903002). The June 12 class will focus on residential, while June 16 will focus on commercial.
  • June 23, “Disasters, Hybrids and Weed: Special Legal Issues for Appraisers” (2 CE hours, BREA No. 19CP119903004).
  • June 30, “Liability Issues for Appraisers Performing Litigation and Other Non-Lending Work” (3 CE hours, BREA Course No. 18CP119903003).

More information and registration details are on this page: Virtual Classes. LIA is the course provider and I am the instructor.

Every California appraiser who takes one of these virtual CE classes in June will receive a free copy of my book Risk Management for Real Estate Appraisers (a $60 value)!

Thank you, Peter Christensen
